Significant Partnership: the Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton and the BiH SuTra

The Ministry of Economy of the Zenica-Doboj Canton has committed to active participation in the realization of project goals, confirming its key role in promoting sustainable economic growth and the ecological future of our region. In a statement made by the Minister of Economy, the canton's dedication to this issue was clearly highlighted:

"Sustainable economic growth and an environmentally friendly future for the Zenica-Doboj Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina are our priorities. The Zenica-Doboj Canton is committed to working on a sustainable transition, fair for all its residents. This project represents a step forward in achieving our shared goals of reducing environmental impact, improving the quality of life, and ensuring sustainable development for future generations. We invite all interested parties, including citizens, representatives of civil society, the private and public sectors, to the consultation event for the development directions of the Transition Plan for the municipality of Breza. This event will be held on April 1, 2024, at the premises of the Municipality of Breza (Council Hall), and will provide a platform for discussion and debate on the drafts of goals/aspirations for each sub-area/measure within the development directions. We are the backbone of Bosnia and Herzegovina's economic development and want to be at the forefront in this crucial segment. We believe that economic development and sustainability are two important sides of the same coin, and we do not want to make any distinction," said Minister Šibonjić.

The Ministry has reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting this initiative, promising further cooperation and ensuring support for the implementation of measures at the cantonal level.

This meeting and the statements by the Minister emphasized the strategic importance of cooperation between cantonal authorities and the BiH SuTra project. Such partnerships enable the establishment of a solid foundation for the realization of a sustainable transition, ensuring that all actors work together to achieve a vision of an ecologically sustainable future for the Zenica-Doboj Canton and all of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
