A sustainable transition in Banovići
As part of BiH SuTra Programme Component 2 (PC2), Supporting the Transition of Coal Regions in BiH, four regions have been selected as pilot areas: Banovići, Breza, Ugljevik and Živinice. This page gathers information, news and updates about the Municipality of Banovići and its process of developing transition plans.
Invitation to participate
When the Municipality of Banovići organised its visioning forum in November 2023, Bego Gutić, the Mayor of Banovići explained the involvement with BiH SuTra; “The first phase focuses on education, while the second phase involves collaborative efforts with SEI to develop project documentation for two proposed initiatives. The primary project aims at improving water supply through the construction of a primary water supply network in Banovići Municipality. The second project involves transforming the heating system in Banovići".
