Capacity building workshop: Wastewater management

The BiH SuTra project is organising a capacity-building workshop on wastewater management in the Municipality of Breza. The event brings together local stakeholders, SEI experts, and local experts, to strengthen knowledge and support local communities on their path toward a sustainable transition.

Effective wastewater management is a fundamental component of environmental protection and public health, and a key requirement for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s alignment with EU standards. Modern wastewater systems help reduce pollution, protect water resources, and enhance long-term community resilience.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the current state of wastewater management in BiH, Swedish experiences in upgrading wastewater systems, and available financing models for sustainable improvements. The workshop will also highlight the role of wastewater systems within broader just and sustainable transition efforts.
